The Earth Solutions Avon Valley Committee

is at present seeking a place for a permanent office where the group will have a settled place to hold meetings and plan for the coming year.

It is hoped to be able to show off some of the skills of our members at a special show day in Northam later this year.

Last year the thinking of Earth Solutions was that we could have a piece of land that the group could show off to the public including schools, but this project has proved difficult to realize.

The committee will be visiting existing environmental centres with similar aims and ideals, with the hope these visits will inspire our members.

Some ideas in progress are:_

Aboriginal pharmacopoeia display, talks for schools and groups on bush medicine and the five Aboriginal seasons, land care and other cultural links.
Sustainable living products and produce displays.
Static displays of sustainable or organic businesses.
Enviromental Products for sale.
Meeting Room for hire.
Eco Art and photographs for display and sale.
Endangered Species display and talks for school group.s
Bio Security Displays
Feral Animal Displays
Eco Films and Speakers at the centre.
Mini Expos.

Workshops on Solar power, organic gardening, composting, reuse and recycling of materials.
Community Gardening.
Craft and Musical instrument workshops from recycled materials.
Philosophy Group and University of the Third Age.
Mothers Rooms for respite from the busy world.
Bush Poets, Folk Music Evenings, Quiz Nights.
Games afternoons for elderly/ lonely peopl.e
Gardening in the Avon Valley information.

Some of these activities arealready being pursued by individual members either in their own town or a neighboring town.

Each member is freely able to commit their particular skills in order to help in improving the environment.
